Hello Ms. Lady, May Peace be upon you! Well , my name is Chaz Bunch, but my associates and friends just call me "Abdullah". I am writing out of the aspirations of gaining your acquaintance and hopefully establishing a meaningful relationship as friends. However, I hope that you do not take offense with my approach and introduction. For as I have stated in opening, I enter your presence with nothing but the best of intentions, desiring only to get to know you. To give you a bit of insight as to the person that I am, as well as the status upon which I define my character, allow me to share with you that I consider myself as being a spiritually conscious and God fearing individual (I practice Islam). A man who is always striving towards self-improvement and to be embracing of the growth and change life brings. I'm open-minded, honest, trustworthy, and loyal to those worthy of my friendship. I'm 44 years old mentally, but 24 actual years of age, (10-24-84), 5' 7" and weigh a slim, but muscular 185 lbs. I am dark brown complexioned and have dark brown eyes. I'm originally from Washington, D.C., but have been falsely incarcerated in Ohio for quite some time now. Eight years to be precise. I'm falsely incarcerated of rape, robbery and kidnapping a white woman. A realization that I share with you, not to deter you from responding, but to show you that I have nothing to keep hidden, and that I want to keep things 100% from the jump. So. with that I am extending my hand in hope that you might be interested in corresponding and hopefully, create a little harmony. Also seeking legal help Dear Compassionate reader, I would like to further introduce myself in such a fashion whereby you will be intrigued to continue to read this correspondence. Being the first juvenile human being in the State of Ohio to be sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole distinguishes me from any other person in this state. Currently, at the age of 24, having already completed eight years of maximum security imprisonment creates a disposition of seriousness I intend to convey herein. Discounting the traumatic experiences these last eight years have produced weighs not much in regards to considering even the slightest On August 21, 2001, I was accused of having been involved as a conspiring perpetrator of a very violent ace of aggravated robbery, kidnapping and rape of a 22 year old female. At the early age of 16, I could hardly be considered of the state of mind to devise, plan and implement such and act involving multiple participants beyond my age, whereby I was assigned as the mastermind. However, in light of nothing but circumstantial evidence, all constructed by the actual perpetrators of this crime, the State of Ohio, in the county of Mahoning pursued a course of prosecution that resulted in the imposing of a sentence that is clearly viewed as cruel and unusual to say the least. I received a horrific prison sentence of One Hundred and Fifteen (115) years. At the age of 16, I could hardly wrap my mind around the totality of the impact this decision of the court carried. The State's witness came forward almost a year and a half after the crime. He alleged that he didn't come forward earlier because I had admitted to him that I had killed many times over and had gotten away with the murders each time. He asserted before the open court in the presence of the jury that he feared if he came forward and I got away with this crime, that I would come and kill his entire family. Notwithstanding the prejudice this statement produced at my trial, the trial court refused to grant a mistrial. How could the State's Prosecuting Attorney or any other Court Official determine that I was so diabolical at age 16, whereas I could present the potential of a trial of dead bodies in my early past to such an extant? This in itself is preposterous. Yet, very entertaining for Hollywood screenplay. I have been denied justice as it appears in the minds of the average American citizen. And, I believe that with promulgated media exposure and public awareness, my case can again rise the the level of scrutiny, and justice can prevail in the grand scheme of American Justice as is conceived in the minds of most Americans. Over the years I have written many Innocent Groups and Advocacy Agencies who all have presented themselves as 'Saviors for the Recipients of Injustice and Victims of our Imperfect Justice system'. However, to no avail have my cries for freedom and justice produced any noteworthy or hallmarked results that afford an peace of mind that promotes any sort of imagination of life outside of prison. My cries have ultimately fallen on deaf ears. Many groups have put my case on hold and refuse to take a "real look" at the issues, circumstances and actual truths my case presents. |
